X'Tra Life Wear Plates

Wearresist Technologies manufactures a series of composite wear plates called X'tralife, to combat vagaries of wear like impact, abrasion, erosion or sliding wear. These wear plates are constituted of a steel backed complex chromium carbide cladding. A specialised fusion bonding process used to manufacture these plates offers significant advantages in terms of lowest dilusion levels and highest concentration of carbides. The company produces these plates in standard sizes of 2,200 mm x 1,000 mm in thickness of 6+4 mm onwards up to 40 mm, in various combinations and grades. The plates can also be cut by plasma into smaller sizes and fabricated as per customer's requirements. These plates can be used to replace conventional methods of wear protection like manganese steel, Nihard, Hichrome, heat treated steel, stainless steel or hard facing. Limitless applications are possible in power stations, earth moving machinery, mining, steel or cement industries or wherever bulk mineral movement is involved. The wear resistance of the product varies from thirty times to sixty times that of MS, depending on the grade. The most common uses are in chutes, transfer points, crusher liners, separator blades, cyclones, ducts, mill parts, etc. The fixing is possible either by welding (since base metal is weldable) or by providing counter sunk holes.
