Wearresist Technologies Private Limited, the manufacturer of the world famous X'tralife Wearplate, now presents the revolutionary "X'tralife NM Wearplate" developed specifically to cater the arduous needs of the, core sector industry in the new millennium. Xtralife NM wearplate is a high chromium carbide composite overlay deposited on a high grade mild steel plate or a chosen-substrate. This forms an extremely hard surface that provides exceptional wear resistance. With all composite weld deposits, it is common for fine cracks to form across all weld seams. These cracks do not propagate into the base material and will not affect the wearability of the overlay. NM wearplate can easily cut to custom sizes by using plasma arc. Plates can be welded together using common electrodes to join backing plates, which do not affect the wear resisting properties. NM wearplate can be rolled or bend to custom shapes. Metallurgical properties achieved in this accurately controlled process utilizing the proper blend of carbides results in an overlay with an evenly distributed microstructure and extreme hardness. By using a combination of different carbides, NM wearplate obtains a consistent wear on the matrix that holds them in place. Various grades are made with differing proportions of high carbides in a tough matrix to suit individual applications. Since deposits has a very low coefficient of friction, combined with the smooth finish of NM wearplate, it is suitable for areas where customers have problems of material sticking also. X'tralife NM wearplate has excellent forming qualities even with thinner thicknesses both hard layer in or out of formed radii. This is the result of a consistent dilution zone. The vertical axis indicates the amount of reduction in the weight of the sample (expressed in grams). The lower bar on this graph indicates that the sample survived with a much lower weight loss. This is extremely good because it shows the product has a lower wear rate.
