Wearresist Technologies offers Goweld, a Portable Battery-Powered Arc Welder, a new, innovative product. This uses DC power from 2 (or 3) 12 V deep cycle batteries to weld steel or aluminium, can also be used as a spool gun with the conventional welder set on constant voltage output. Goweld accommodates 2 lb (1 kg) spools of solid (MIG/MAG) or flux core self-shielding (FCAW) wire from .023 to .045 diameters to weld material up to 1/2" thick. A versatile welding product with unrivalled features, Goweld features die cast aluminium chains, heavy-duty motor with optical encoder and programmed microprocessor control circuit to monitor feed and weld functions. Together the optical encoder and microprocessor yield speed control with the least variance. More consistent speed means more consistent welds. LEDs indicate power status, polarity, and low battery warning. The controls are at the welder's fingertips. An optional voltage circuit allows voltage to be stepped down to facilitate welding thin gauge steel without burn-through. Permanent high quality welds can now be made anywhere in any weather without the need for a welding generator or inverter power source, revolutionising the maintenance and repair industry.
