FRP Gratings – Pultrusion

Crescent Technologies Pvt Ltd offers Fibreglass reinforced plastic (FRP) Gratings made by Pultrusion Process. FRP gratings have been engineered not only for strength, but also to overcome corrosion problems found in chemical, pulp and paper, electronic, food, beverage, aircraft, automotive, plating, textile, and other industries where corrosive products are used. These are areas where metal grating rapidly deteriorates or creates a constant maintenance problem. It is the right replacement for steel or aluminium gratings used in highly corrosive atmosphere. The pultrusion is produced by dipping fibreglass such as strand, mat and veil in a liquid resin bath and then pulling this combination through a heated die which shapes and cures the composite before it comes out the other end. The cross bars often are slotted to provide some mechanical strength and the holes are then coated with epoxy. It is a continuous and highly efficient method of producing a standard cross section. As a result of this system's construction, this can be assembled in various panel sizes and with multiple cross rod and bar spacing to provide for different requirements. The main benefit of the pultruded type is higher glass content, which provides for a superior load capacity than it's moulded counterpart. Crescent gratings often outlast steel 20 to 1 times and it is a long term investment, where frequent grating and walkways replacement cost are unacceptable. These are an ideal solution for corrosion problems faced in industrial environments and also it solves problem of theft in domestic utilities where metal products are often stolen for scrap.
