J&K Lieutenant Governor unveils superior polymers unit in Kathua

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha virtually inaugurated the manufacturing unit of Superior Polymers India Private Limited in Kathua, marking a significant step towards strengthening the region's industrial base.

Congratulating the Superior Group of Industries on their new venture, the LG emphasised the unit’s potential to positively impact the local economy and job creation, aligning with the broader vision of an Aatmanirbhar J&K.

The greenfield project, established with an investment of Rs 75 million, is expected to generate hundreds of employment opportunities in the Union Territory.

Reiterating the Centre’s commitment to industrial growth in J&K under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, the LG highlighted that the UT has developed a robust workforce and empowered marginalised communities, boosting sectors like handloom and handicrafts exports.

“The progressive industrial policy and proactive interventions over the past few years have increased investor confidence in J&K,” said the Lieutenant Governor. “We’re witnessing the results, with multiple units operational and more investments in the pipeline.”

Senior officials, including Shri Vikramjit Singh, Commissioner Secretary, Industries and Commerce; Dr Arun Kumar Manhas, Director, Industries & Commerce, Jammu; and key leadership from the Superior Group, participated in the inauguration. Shri Rakesh Minhas, Deputy Commissioner of Kathua, joined the event virtually along with other district officials.
