Siemens wins HERMES AWARD 2025 for AI-powered industrial copilots

Siemens has been awarded the prestigious HERMES AWARD 2025 for its AI-driven "industrial copilots," which assist in optimising processes across the entire industrial value chain. The award was presented during the official opening ceremony of HANNOVER MESSE by Germany’s Federal Minister of Education and Research, Cem Özdemir.

An independent jury, chaired by Prof Dr-Ing. Holger Hanselka, President, Fraunhofer Society, selected Siemens as the winner from three finalists. The industrial copilots leverage AI to enhance workforce efficiency by reducing repetitive tasks and improving productivity. Siemens' TIA Portal engineering framework, used by over 120,000 professionals globally, is a key beneficiary, enabling engineers to write more precise and reliable code at a significantly faster pace.

Siemens’ AI copilots span design, planning, engineering, operations, and maintenance, offering both cloud-based and on-premises solutions, with the latter designed for direct shop floor integration.

"Artificial intelligence offers immense potential for industry," said Prof Dr-Ing. Hanselka. "Siemens’ industrial copilots provide a holistic AI-based solution that enhances management, production, quality assurance, and real-time documentation, addressing critical challenges facing industries today. On behalf of the jury, congratulations to Siemens on this well-deserved award!"
