Mitsubishi Elevator India launches new plant at Vemgal near Bengaluru

India, July 19, 2016 – Mitsubishi Elevator India Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Electric, Japan, has announced the launch of new plant in Vemgal, near Bengaluru city. Spread over an area of 89,000 sqm, the facility with floor space of 25,400 sqm and manufacturing capacity of 5,000 units annually has the capability to expand production in the future. The first elevator is scheduled for delivery in December 2016.

By producing locally, Mitsubishi Elevator India expects to strength the product competitiveness in terms of price and cut down on delivery time by focusing on its Nexiez-Lite elevator model for low to mid-rise buildings in the Indian market. Special emphasis will be placed on the efficient integration of sales, manufacturing, installation and maintenance. One of the breakthrough products of Mitsubishi Elevator is the fastest elevator [speed of 20.5 m/sec] in the world (Shanghai Tower in China) that use artificial-intelligence technologies, continue to receive high evaluations industry-wide.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Iwao Oda, Managing Director, Mitsubishi Elevator India Pvt Ltd, said, “We strive to achieve our goal of being the No. 1 brand in quality through our Quality in Motion policy (Safety, Ecology, Efficiency and Comfort). We recognise the growth potential of the Indian economy and through the launch will directly cater to the emerging elevator market, which is now the world’s second largest after China. Mitsubishi Elevator India emphasises on the safety and quality of all the products, it will be a collaborative effort of Japanese technology with trained Japanese technicians training their Indian counterparts and working towards well-being of Indian society. As part of Make in India initiative, the new manufacturing facility at Vemgal will roll out new series of products and will be our 14th manufacturing facility in the world that have so far supplied elevators, escalators and moving walks in 93 countries world-wide.”

Mitsubishi quality levels are a benchmark in the elevator industry and this comes from the strong and stringent internal quality systems and suppliers that have been adopted. Mitsubishi Elevator India plans to grow sales volumes by strengthening its sales network across the country and by offering more products that fulfil local needs. Product development will be reinforced with an elevator test tower, approximately 41 metres high, and a field-training centre for installation and maintenance work on the premises of the new factory. The enhanced education of engineers is expected to further elevate the quality and reliability of products and services, ultimately for increased customer satisfaction.
