Ministry launches MedTech Mitra to propel growth in medical devices industry

The Union Health Ministry introduced MedTech Mitra, a platform aimed at expediting the advancement and commercialisation of innovative products. Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, inaugurating the platform virtually, expressed confidence in the potential for India's medical devices industry to reach $50 billion by 2030.
MedTech Mitra will guide innovators through the regulatory approval process, according to Mandaviya. Developed by Niti Aayog, the Indian Council of Medical Research, and the Central Drugs Standards Control Organisation, the platform, in conjunction with recent medical devices policy and the production-linked incentive scheme, is anticipated to stimulate the medical devices sector and promote domestic manufacturing of these crucial products.
