Amara Raja Energy & Mobility wins excellence awards for plant maintenance in Japan
Hyderabad: Two units of Amara Raja Energy & Mobility Ltd (ARE&M), formerly known as Amara Raja Batteries Ltd, a comprehensive solutions provider in the Energy & Mobility space, have bagged the prestigious JIPM’s TPM Excellence Awards at the International Conference Centre in Kyoto, Japan.
The Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance’s (JIPM) TPM Excellence Award was given to an Industrial battery manufacturing unit and the excellence in consistent TPM commitment award Automotive Battery unit. The award is a recognition of Amara Raja’s consistent vision, commitment, and effort in the pioneering manufacturing excellence and quality.
The awards were presented to C Narasimhulu Naidu, Chief Operations Officer, ARE&M and other company officials at event held in Kyoto, Japan.
JIPM confers the awards to applicants from all over the world who are doing remarkably well in implementing Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) to increase plant efficiency. The award is presented to the companies who execute best quality, productivity with lowest cost possible under safest environment by using 8 pillar approach of JIPM. Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is focused on eliminating all types of losses in production, and is a machine and people-oriented system. This year, companies from 16 countries participated in the competition.
“Through implementing various improvement initiatives and support from all the employees, various units of Amara Raja were able to achieve highest level of productivity even while maintaining safety protocols. This award is recognition of our vision and commitment to world-class quality and safety,” stated C Narasimhulu Naidu, COO, ARE&M.
Harshavardhana Gourineni, Executive Director, ARE&M expressed his satisfaction and said, “We are delighted to get this honor from JIPM, which is the highest standard of TPM awards at a global level. The team has worked diligently to implement and standardise the overall framework of TPM which has in turn resulted in minimising losses while maintaining high levels of productivity. This recognition will inspire us, and we aspire to bag the Special Award for all our Battery plants by FY’27.”
