Indian Battery Manufacturers Association elects Preeti Bajaj as President

Indian Battery Manufacturers Association (IBMA) held its 3rd Annual General Meeting at New Delhi on Aug 28, 2024. At this meeting which was well attended by its members and regulatory bodies, IBMA elected Preeti Bajaj, CEO and MD, Luminous Power Technologies Pvt. Ltd. as its new President.  Preeti Bajaj previously served as the Vice President of IBMA and succeeds Arun Mittal, Exide Industries Ltd., who led the association with dedication and vision.
 
IBMA also elected Rajesh Jindal, President & Chief Marketing Officer, Amara Raja Energy & Mobility Ltd., as the new Vice President of IBMA. 
 
Preeti Bajaj, as the new President of IBMA, is committed to advancing the organisation's mission of building a sustainable, innovative, and globally competitive battery manufacturing industry in India. She aims to drive technological advancements, promote sustainable practices, and strengthen India's global leadership in the sector. Emphasising the energy sector's pivotal moment, she expressed her honour in taking on this role and her eagerness to collaborate with members to elevate the industry both nationally and internationally.
 
Participants from the Delhi Pollution Control Committee who attended the meeting noted IBMA initiatives and suggestions with regard to implementation and compliance with Battery Waste Management Rules (BWMR 2022).
