Pengerang, Malaysia (July 15, 2014) - Inspectorate, part of the Bureau Veritas Commodities Division, has opened a new analytical laboratory specialising in the testing of oil and petrochemicals in the state of Johor, Malaysia. The Pengerang laboratory is Inspectorate's full scope testing facility in Malaysia and will provide customers with 24/7 support for the analysis of various petroleum, petrochemical and gasoline blend products.

The laboratory is strategically located inside the newly opened Pengerang Independent Deepwater Petroleum Terminal. This is part of the larger Pengerang Integrated Petroleum Complex (PIPC) positioned to be converted into one of the largest oil and gas hubs in the world.

The new laboratory will provide support services for oil and petrochemical refineries, shipping companies and traders who require real time data for the quality of oil and petroleum in Malaysia. The facility also includes an office providing inspection services for cargo quantity determination, sampling, blending and additive services.

The laboratory will complement Inspectorate's existing suite of inspection and sampling services throughout Malaysia for the Oil & Petrochemicals industry. It operates based on ISO 17025 Quality Management System and performs testing to ISO, ASTM, IP and other industry standard methodologies.
