Germany's Kärcher bets big on India's cleaning market

Kärcher, which recently launched its advanced cleaning solutions in India, aims to enhance rental solutions for businesses, providing cost-effective access to their advanced cleaning equipment, writes Manish Pant.

Global cleaning equipment maker Alfred Kärcher SE & Co KG (Kärcher) has expanded its India market presence by launching advanced cleaning solutions for both professional and consumer segments. The company’s new offerings for the professional segment include an autonomous scrubber-dryer (KIRA B 50), a high-performance autonomous cordless vacuum (KIRA CV 50), and a single-disc machine (BDS 43/165). Kärcher aims to enhance rental solutions for businesses, providing cost-effective access to their advanced cleaning equipment. In the consumer segment, they will launch a compact and advanced robotic vacuum cleaner (RCV2), following earlier introductions of RCV3 and RCV5 to tap into the home automation market.
Highlighting the importance of India as a crucial market, Hartmut Jenner, CEO & Chairman of the Board of Management of Alfred Kärcher SE & Co, stated during his recent visit to New Delhi, “Our consultative selling approach ensures we understand and address the specific needs of our clients, enabling us to maintain our market leadership, particularly in the professional sector.” Kärcher plans to diversify its product portfolio by introducing detergents. “As we continue to expand our customer base and enhance our product lines, including detergents, we will invest in infrastructure, training, and development to achieve consistent and sustainable growth,” he added.
The company will focus on its aftermarket and service division to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction, efficiency, and reliability across all customer care and service touchpoints through its subsidiary Kärcher India. Management has also reiterated its commitment to empowering women in the workforce and community. Several programs have been initiated to foster an inclusive work environment and promote gender diversity. Jatinder Kaul, MD of Kärcher India, noted, “As we deepen our presence in India, we remain focused on empowering communities and addressing local challenges, ensuring that our technology and solutions not only meet but exceed the expectations of our customers and society at large.”
Additionally, Kärcher India undertakes projects for the preservation of cities and cultural heritage. They have been instrumental in cleanliness efforts in Ayodhya, Varanasi, and Delhi, most recently collaborating with the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation to deploy industrial sweepers.
