GeM, AiMeD forge partnership for direct medical device sales to government

The Government eMarketplace (GeM), which operates as the public procurement platform under the Commerce Ministry, has entered into a memorandum of understanding with the Association of Indian Manufacturers of Medical Devices (AiMeD). This agreement aims to enable AiMeD's members, comprising over 300 medical device manufacturers, to directly offer their products to the government through the GeM portal.

This collaborative partnership is designed to seamlessly integrate the extensive network of medical device manufacturers associated with AiMeD into the public procurement portal. GeM emphasized that this onboarding process will establish direct market connections between manufacturers of various medical devices, such as consumables, disposables, equipment, instruments, electronics, diagnostics, and implants, and government buyers across India. Importantly, this direct engagement eliminates the need for intermediaries in the process.
