Dhruva Space, a comprehensive space enterprise, has announced plans for the initial phase of its 2.80-lakh square feet facility in the vicinity, slated to be operational within the next 18-24 months. Covering 1.50-lakh sq ft, this phase includes a 20,000 sq ft Solar Array Assembly Line, making Dhruva Space one of the few companies globally manufacturing space-grade solar panels, as revealed by a company spokesperson.

The upcoming facility, located at the TSIIC (Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation) Hardware Park II in Shamshabad, will specialise in producing satellite platforms and subsystems, satellite orbital deployers, ground station equipment, and more. Situated on a 6.5-acre plot provided by the Telangana government, the 2.80-lakh sq ft facility will be developed in multiple phases over the next five years, as stated in the company's announcement.

Described as a "hot-bed for space-technology," the facility's focus lies on fostering innovation, teamwork, and the organisation's core values. Dhruva Space aims to position itself as a global hub for space technology in India by creating a cutting-edge campus that mirrors India's rising prominence in the world arena, according to the company statement.

Sanjay Nekkanti, Chief Executive Officer of Dhruva Space, emphasised the facility's symbolic significance, asserting that it signals India's entry onto the international stage of space business. He stated, "Building the Design, Engineering, Assembly, Integration, and Testing facility in the Shamshabad area is a vital component of our growth strategy, essential for Dhruva Space to achieve its complete potential as a full-stack space company."

Abhay Egoor, Chief Technology Officer and co-founder of Dhruva Space, highlighted the facility's purpose, mentioning that the Assembly, Integration, and Testing (AIT) facility will serve the expanding small satellite market.
