Group Legrand India has inaugurated its manufacturing
facility in Nashik, marking a key milestone in the Group’s growth journey in
India. Spread across more than 30,000 square metres, the new plant is one of
Legrand’s largest factories globally and it’s largest in India, underscoring
the country’s strategic importance as a manufacturing and export hub.
The Nashik facility will manufacture busbar trunking
systems, distribution boards, racks, Cablofil cable trays, and industrial plugs
and sockets. A strong focus will be on solutions for the rapidly expanding data
centre market, a key strategic priority for Legrand worldwide. Designed to
serve both domestic and international markets, exports of select products have
already commenced, with plans to expand global shipments across additional
categories. This positions the facility as a ‘Made in India, Made for the
World’ supply hub.
The expansion builds on Legrand India’s growing data centre
portfolio, strengthened through organic growth and recent strategic
acquisitions such as NetRack, enabling integrated solutions across power
distribution and digital infrastructure.
Sustainability is a core focus at the Nashik facility. The
plant has received green building certification from the Indian Green Building
Council (IGBC), features a 1 MW rooftop solar energy system, and follows zero
liquid discharge policies. These measures reflect Legrand’s commitment to
responsible manufacturing. The facility will deploy state-of-the-art technology
and stringent quality control processes to produce products that meet or exceed
global standards, while contributing to customer growth and environmental
stewardship.
Speaking at the inauguration, Tony Berland, CEO & Managing Director, Group Legrand India,
said, “We are pleased to inaugurate the Nashik manufacturing facility, which
represents an important milestone in Legrand India’s journey. This project
reflects the dedication of our teams and partners, and our continued focus on
building long-term capabilities in India. We look forward to the value this
facility will create for our customers, employees and stakeholders, both in India
and across global markets.”
The Nashik facility reflects Legrand’s philosophy of
combining manufacturing excellence, sustainable practices and a forward-looking
approach to meet the evolving needs of global markets.
The project will supply renewable power to DCM Shriram Chemicals’ Bharuch plant and raise the company’s total renewable energy capacity to 176 MW peak.
