Collins Aerospace, part of RTX, has inaugurated its new Collins India Operations Center (CIOC), a 26-acre advanced manufacturing facility at the KIADB Aerospace Park in Bengaluru. The site strengthens the company’s capability to produce high-precision aerospace components for global customers and expands its long-term presence in India.
Equipped with technologies such as artificial intelligence, additive manufacturing and robotics, the CIOC will initially manufacture seats, lighting and cargo systems, temperature sensors, communication and navigation systems, water solutions and evacuation slides. The centre is designed to support operations and manufacturing for more than 70 Collins products, with additional capacity planned for future demand.
The fully connected Industry 4.0 Building Management System enhances efficiency and delivery performance, while the facility has secured both LEED Silver and Indian Green Building Council Silver certifications. Collins Aerospace expects the site to employ more than 2,200 people by 2026.
The company has been expanding steadily in India for nearly three decades and now has more than 6,500 employees across engineering, digital, manufacturing, operations and supply chain roles. Earlier this year, it announced a new Engineering Development and Test Center in Bengaluru, further strengthening its local footprint.
