Bristle Blasting Process

Wearresist Technologies offers MBX, a Bristle Blasting Process. Key features: corrosion/coating removal; meets SSPC white metal visual standards; improved fatigue resistance to compressive residual stress generated at surface by bristle blasting process; surface texture/profile, roughness capability from 40-75 microns; increased surface hardness, improved resistance, improved conversion resistance of bristle blasted surface; and simplicity, eliminates the need for complex and costly abrasive blast equipment. Application: in automotive, boat and shipbuilding, aviation and space, oil and petrochemicals, building and underground construction, mechanical and paint engineering, screen printing, welding, plastics, metal working and foundries, mining, wood working, tobacco, electronics, vinyl, mould-making and other industries. Materials: aluminium, stainless steel, brass, copper-nickel, plastics, fibreglass, polyester, sheet metal, glass, wood, stone and paints. Capacities: surface treatment with peak-to-valley roughness up to 75 microns/3 mils (sandblast effect), shot peening, roughening of different materials (preparation for applying adhesives and compounds), removal – especially sticky – materials (e.g., coating, sealers, vinyl), cleaning, paint removal, corrosion removal, even in hard-to-reach and sharp-edged areas.
