Vacuum Packed Stainless Steel Electrodes

GEE Limited set up its first welding electrode manufacturing plant in India with through a technical collaboration with a German company in the year 1969. Today, the company’s unmatched expertise in welding technology and metallurgy, driven by in-house R&D and global networking and documentation systems can solve welding problems however intricate they may be. It has now set up two green field plants doubling the production capacity to 13,200 tonnes. These plants, ISO 9001:2000 accredited by Det Norske Veritas, are fully integrated and are equipped with modern machinery and systems for production, packing and dispatch. The company offers Vacuum Packed Stainless Steel Electrodes, Gritinox 308L. Characteristics: a rutile flux-coated electrode designed for the welding of low carbon 18%Cr/10%Ni, type 304L, 304 austenitic stainless steel; operability is excellent with a low spatter arc, producing a smooth weld bead surface and self-releasing slag; and the deposited welds are of radiographic quality. Typical applications: for welding ASTM/ASME 304, 304L, 304LN, cast CF3, CF8, food, brewery and chemical process vessels, pipelines and nuclear engineering; type 301, 302 and 303; and also suitable for welding type 321 stabilised stainless steel, petrochemical, power and pharmaceutical industries, paper processing plant. Corrosion resistance: good resistance to general and intergranular corrosion. Good resistance to oxidising acids. Not susceptible to intergranular corrosion. Microstructure: austenite with 3 to 9 FN (3-8% ferrite) typical 6FN, ASME IX qualification: QW-432 F-number 5, QW-442 A-number 8, re-drying: 300ºC/2 hrs, max 5 cycles, 10 hrs total.
