Converter Module, Delstar

Energy saving Delstar converter module is designed for use with star delta starter where the load on the motor is low, or changes form low to high and vice versa, or where the load on the motor is initially high and comes down to low, as dictated by operational requirements. Number of motors operate under cyclic load conditions or at low loads due to operational requirements. When the load on the motor is lower than 50%, the motor can be operated in star mode to save energy, at a higher power factor and lower maximum demand. The module senses the load on the motor and when the load is low, the module provides supply to the star contactor coil after disconnecting supply to the delta coil. When the load on the motor goes up beyond 50%, the module switches over the motor to delta operation. The savings will be around 40% at very low loads. This is a compact unit, which is to be installed near the existing star delta starter and suitably wired as per instructions.
