Speed Transmitter

A Speed Transmitter is used to convert the output of speed transducers to 4-20 mA form. Frequency-to-current converter is an ideal device for transmission of speed signals generated by devices like proximity switches and encoders. The pulses received from proximity switches are converted to suitable form with isolation. These converters are used in process control industries for signal isolation. The sensor can be a proximity switch, magnetic pick up or encoder which is fitted on the equipment and produces pulses. I/P frequency range depend on the speed of the equipment. These pulses are processed at frequency converter and suitable output generally 4-20 mA is produced. The O/P is isolated to provide further isolation of field signal so that instrument/PLC side is isolated from the field side.
