Signal Processing Modules
Signal Processing Modules like converters, isolators and transmitters isolate and convert field signals like Resistance, Current, Voltage, Frequency to 4-20 mA. Signal converter converts field signals received from sensors like RTDs, thermocouples, load cells, and strain gauges to standard 4-20 mA form which is acceptable by PLCs or DCS for further processing. Transmitters are generally head mounted and fitted in the head of temperature sensor. Isolators provide further isolation of field signal so that PLC side is isolated from field side. Converters are specially developed to overcome these problems in transmission such as line drop, interference, ground looping and non compatibility to standard processing unit.
