Hydrogen-Controlled Electrode, Geecon Purple

GEE Limited set up its first welding electrode manufacturing plant in India with through a technical collaboration with a German company in the year 1969. Today, the company’s unmatched expertise in welding technology and metallurgy, driven by in-house R&D and global networking and documentation systems can solve welding problems however intricate they may be. It has now set up two green field plants doubling the production capacity to 13,200 tonnes. These plants, ISO 9001:2000 accredited by Det Norske Veritas, are fully integrated and are equipped with modern machinery and systems for production, packing and dispatch. The company offers Hydrogen-Controlled Electrode, Geecon Purple. This is an extruded, heavy-coated, hydrogen-controlled electrode. Characteristics: weldable in all positions except vertical down; and the bead appearance is fine with uniform ripples and the slag is compact, thick and easily detachable. Typical applications: for radiographic quality welding of highly stressed joints in steel structures, heavy-duty boilers and pressure vessels, railway wagons, coaches and trailers, etc; also for maintenance welding/surfacing of cast steel/fine grained/heat treated steel and wrought steel; excellent for welding of higher carbon and higher sulphur steel which are susceptible to hydrogen-induced cracking; and recommended for welding steels of unknown composition.
