Energy Saver For Welding Set

The welding set energy saver is a simple to use energy saving device, which will improve power factor and reduce maximum demand. If the device remains idle for more than the preset time interval, the unit switches off the power to the welding transformer through the mains contactor. As soon as the operator touches the electrode to restart welding, the unit resets the contactor instantly and welding can be carried on. The time can be set to individual welder"s choice from between 5 to 20 seconds. Since any welding set consumes power even when unloaded, switching off the welding set results in saving of power which can be anywhere between 1 to 4 units/hour. The device can be used for two wire or three wire welding equipments. The other advantages are cooler working of the sets, overall improvement of power factor, maximum demand reduction, etc. Optional facilities: protection against burnouts caused by short circuits. This will mean that expensive rewinding of the welding transformers can be eliminated.
