Electracon Paradise manufactures Electrical Contact Rivets (solid, bi-metal and tri-metal) for all kinds of switching devices to control flow of electricity. There are different types and shapes of rivets. The technique, of using more copper and less precious materials, makes larger heads and shanks economically possible and this facilitates proper heat absorption, dissipation and alloys for higher ampere ratings.
Solid Contact Rivets:
This type of contact is manufactured directly from wire by cold heading process as a result of which the shank remains soft for easy rivetting whilst the head becomes work-hardened. The shank length can be easily varied but the shank diameter should be in right proportion to the size of head for avoiding wrinkles during cold forging operation.
For satisfactory results, a sufficiently large shank diameter (generally 50% of the head diameter) is recommended to avoid undue increase of contact resistance during service.
Bi-Metal Contact Rivets:
Due to high price of silver, these types of rivets are very popular and they are replacing solid contact rivets. The shank and part of its head are made of cheaper base metal (generally OFHC Copper) and the upper part of the head is only made of precious contact materials. The base metal and contact materials are welded in an absolutely reliable way.
The technique, of using more Copper and less precious materials, makes larger heads and shanks economically possible and this facilitates proper heat absorption and dissipation and alloys for higher ampere ratings. The range of head diameter, which can be produced by our equipment, is 2.0mm-25mm.
Trimetal Contact Rivets:
This unique product, has been for the first time introduced in India by the PARADISE house and excellently serves the requisite purpose with crown of success.
We have equipment capable to produce tri-metal contact rivets with diameter between 2.0mm to 10 mm. Over and above the advantages claimed by bi-metal contact rivets, this is double headed, with head tip of precious contact material while the base material is OFHC to produce economical contact to save precious metal. The shank end will be rivetted over to form the second contact head, when in use.
