Earth resistivity meter

Minitronix offers earth resistivity meters. This instrument is useful for exploring groundwater and studying lithological formation of the earth. Similarly this instrument is used for finding out depth of bedrock to determine the foundation depth. It saves considerable time and amount spent for sample drilling to locate the bedrock. This instrument is used by geologists and state government agencies for groundwater exploration and by construction companies to estimate the foundation depth before construction. It consists of an amplifier and a generator. The generator generates 200/400 V at 4 Hz from a 12 V battery. The amplifier measures the voltage across two electrodes. This gives the resistivity of the earth up to a depth determined by the spacing of electrodes. The instrument delivers high power to the ground. This gives better signal to noise ratio and the readings are stable. Knowledge of geology or experience is necessary for using the instrument.
