Panel Mounted Speed Indicator/Tachometer

Non-contact type Speed Indicators and Tachometers are used for indication of machine speed in panel/control room. Inductive Proximity Switch is used as a sensor and placed in close proximity to the rotating object. On this object, metallic plates are fixed. Sensor detects presence of metal objects, which come within the range of their oscillating field giving rise to corresponding pulses. These pulses are fed to the control unit where they are compared with the standard pulses to sense the speed. The speed is indicated in RPM or linear speed units like metres per minute. This indicator gives digital display as well as operates relay contact at preset speed. Special enclosures like weather proof - flameproof enclosures are available.
