Tensile Tests

Zwick offers Portal, an automated specimen supply system for steel. This enables a completely automatic tensile test on steel (hot rolled strip), according to EN 1002. The system consists of a 50 kN materials testing machine (Zwick Z050) and an automated specimen supply system in light portal construction with a three axis specimen grip. The magazine can take up 400 specimens. The sorting of the broken specimens are based on the pre-selected acceptance criteria. For the operator, the complete system is easily accessible from the front, eg, for the magazining of the specimens. Due to the portal construction the specimen gripper can be easily moved aside for manual tests thus giving the operator free access to the testing machine. The additional measurement stations like cross-section measuring device, surface roughness testing device and hardness tester complete the testing system. By using a barcode scanner a reliable and automatic identification of the specimens is guaranteed. By integrating the complete testing device into a system, considerable test time can be saved and, as a result, the demand for lower testing costs can be fulfilled. The measured test results are transferred to a higher-ranking processor system for the writing of certificates and for the production control. The easy to learn and user-friendly test program Zwick testXpert is part of the delivery of the system.
