Baseline Technologies manufactures computerised portable balancer ? 2100, a convenient instrument with which the operator can balance rotors in-position. The device measures the vibration and saves it under programme control. The angle is input into the in-built balancing programme by image rotation. The procedure is repeated with a trial mass temporarily attached to the rotor, after which the unit computes the original unbalance and indicates the position of it while the rotor is running. Also the measurement is given in terms of percentage of the trial mass used. Various features of the balancer include: compact and lightweight unit for on-site dynamic balancing of rotors; in-built balancing programmes ? no need for vector calculations; blade resolution algorithm for bladed rotors; recalculation of balancing for addition/removal of trial weight and blade resolution, is possible without re-run; memory for frequently balanced grinding machines eliminates trial weight procedure for repeat balancing and gives the final result in one run; stroboscopic angle indication ensures ultimate ease of set-up and also eliminates need for angle measurement; piezo-electric accelerometer type vibration sensor; tunable filter eliminates undesirable sources of vibration; 400-6000 RPM rotor speed range; velocity and displacement modes and large measurement range with 12-bit precision. The instrument is offered in two variants: single plane (2100S) with one sensor and two-plane (2100T) with two sensors. Application: in-position dynamic balancing of blowers, impellers, motors, alternators, pumps, turbines, centrifuges up to 6,000 RPM, pulleys, flywheels, cylindrical/surface grinders and machine tools that exhibit measurable vibrations.
