Weld seam tracker

Purshotamdas Madhavani & Co Pvt Ltd has developed highly versatile seam tracking, welding manipulators. These can be used for seam tracking and welding of large pressure vessels as well as straight plates.These manipulators are currently available in X-Y configuration. The XY PM manipulator is mounted on a boom placed over the job. The job to be welded is moved either by pipe rollers or by pinch rollers from a decoiler/coiler. The weld seam tracker is mounted ahead of the welding head. The seam gap and seam offset are tracked and fed to the XY manipulator. The corrections are therefore automatically effected through the welding torch, which is also mounted on the XY carriage. Tracking response speeds of more than 15 mm per second are achievable. Applications of these systems include seam tracking and inspection of large sized fabricators.
