GEE Limited set up its first welding electrode manufacturing plant in India with through a technical collaboration with a German company in the year 1969. Today, the company’s unmatched expertise in welding technology and metallurgy, driven by in-house R&D and global networking and documentation systems can solve welding problems however intricate they may be. It has now set up two green field plants doubling the production capacity to 13,200 tonnes. These plants, ISO 9001:2000 accredited by Det Norske Veritas, are fully integrated and are equipped with modern machinery and systems for production, packing and dispatch. The company offers Hardfacing Electrodes, Gridur-M. Characteristics: basic coated, SMAW electrode for hard surfacing; building up parts undergoing high impact or heavy buffering loads; maintenance of austenitic manganese castings and steel parts; and arc striking and restriking properties are very good arc is stable. Typical applications: abrasion-proof hardfacing of different parts made out of mild steel, structural steel, austenitic manganese, hard steel and cast steel which are loaded by impact friction and rolling; suitable for rail equipment in 14% Mn steel; heavy crushing equipment – crusher jaws, crusher cones, excavator teeth, mill hammers, scraper blades, manganese steel, rails and crossing, etc; and hardness of weld metal: as welded – 170-220 HB; and after cold-working – 450-500 HB.
