Vertical Machining Centre (Travelling Column Type)

Considering industries' need for high speed machining, especially for aluminium components, PAL has now developed a new range of vertical machining centres. Two models are available, CVM 556 and CVM 440. The machines are targeted for reduction in not only cutting time but also idle time. It has a fixed table construction enabling use of heavier components as well as rotary tables and hydraulic fixtures. It has two separate work zones which eliminates APC. Brief specifications are given below, the figures in the bracket indicating specifications for the model CVM 440: longitudinal travel of column (X-axis) - 2000 mm (1200 mm); spindle nose taper - ISO 50 (BT 40); spindle speed (stepless) -60-6000 RPM (80-8000 RPM); spindle power - 15 kW (11 kW); total table length x width - 500 x 800 mm (500 x 350 mm); cutting feed - 1-10000 mm/min (1-10000 mm/min); rapid traverse rate - 30 m/min for X and Y axes, 24 m/min for Z axis (40 m/min for X and Y axes, 30 m/min for Z axis; and, tool storage capacity - 20 (24).
