Grinding Machine, External Track (Automatic)

Lavingia Enterprise offers an automatic external track-grinding machine. This has been specifically developed for grinding the track of the inner races of rolling element bearings. With an appropriate dressing device (straight, radius or diamond roller profile dressers), the machine can grind accurately the tracks of ball, cylindrical roller and even angular contact ball bearings. The work-piece is supported on shoe-centreless type of device having an electro magnetic chuck. The work-piece is usually supported on the track being ground. However, other work-holding devices are also offered. The fully automatic machine is controlled by a computer (PC). All grinding and dressing parameters are operator programmable. These include the rough/fine cuts, rate of feeds, dwell/spark-out times, dressing cuts, etc. The high cutting velocities (wheel peripheral speed 45 m/sec is standard, optional 60 m/sec) ensure a short work-cycle and superior surface finish. The feeds controlled by stepper motors are in the steps of 0.125 micron ensuring smooth infeed. The feed slides move on preloaded precision linear bearings which ensure instantaneous and precise response to the stepper motors. This results in extremely high repeat accuracies and precise geometry of the ground components
