Lavingia Enterprise offers cylindrical grinding machines forexternal diameters and bores (internal). The machines are avail-able with centre height of 150 mm, and traverse lengths of 500 and 650 mm (admit between centres 750 mm and 1,000 mm respectively). On these machines the wheel head slide moves on precision preloaded linear bearing guideways having play-free frictionless movement to achieve an instantaneous and precise reaction to the feed movements. The feed mechanism allows a minimum feed resolution of 0.001 mm (one micron). The wheel head spindle and the work head spindle are mounted on matched pairs of precision (ISO:P4 Class) bearings. The work head drive is through a DC motor which permits stepless speed variation over the entire working range. Speed can be adjusted even while grinding, allowing optimum speeds/feed for desired productivity and finishes. The work slide (table) has fine feed that permits fine control of shoulder grinding and shoulder dimensions. Fully automatic version of the above machine is also available with auto cycle, auto dressing, auto dressing compensation and size control. The ma-chines are used in tool rooms as well as for batch or volume production of precise components.
