The Shaper Cutter is used to cut spur gears and available in four types: disk, bell, shank and hub type. The standard shaper cutter is held in stock. The helix angle of the gear to be cut and lead of the helical guide determine the number of teeth of the shaper cutter. This is the most popular and is based on ANSI B29, 1-1975 tooth forms.
