Quill Feed Drill/Mill Units (Hydraulic/Pneumatic)

Thakoor Electromechanical introduces hydraulically or pneumatically operated quill feed drill/mill units, Models QD-12/QD-25, for various machining operations in high production special purpose machines. These units are characterised by in-line feeding mechanism, where spindle/sleeve/oil cylinder are installed around one common axis. This eliminates the bending moments on spindle-sleeve assembly while feeding/ cutting and reduces wear of the unit's components to minimum. QD units are designed with rugged mechanical design, precision honed cylinder bore, hardened and ground spindle with splined drive mechanism. Hydraulically operated QD units are available in two capacities: QD-12-H/QD-25-H (drilling capacity: f 12/25 mm in mild steel). Feed stroke and feed rate can be varied steplessly. Similar pneumatic units are available for dia 6/12 mm. For feeding applications external hydraulic dampers are required for pneumatic units. QD units can be mounted in horizontal/angular/vertical (nose down) positions. Normal use of QD units is in drilling/reaming/hole milling/counter drilling/deburring/chamfering/centering operations. With long stroke and ability to give a number of woodpecking cycles, QD units can be used for deep hole drilling/ reaming operations. With suitable changes, these units can also be used for rough boring operations. These units are ideal as basic building blocks for custom-built, special purpose machines generally used by automobile/home appliances/engineering products manufacturers requiring mass production machines.
