Magnetics India offers Electromagnetic Vibratory Feeder, the most efficient piece of apparatus to convey free flowing bulk materials with controlled feed rate. A stepless change of flow rate is possible, simply by varying the input voltage through variac/or by any other means/thyristor control method, etc. The flow &rate may be selected anywhere between zero and maximum. Electromagnetic vibratory feeders work on the principle of resonance and therefore they need very less power to convey the material. In the state of resonance the power needed to sustain the vibration is minimum and negligible. The power consumed is only that is needed to overcome the damping force which is proportional to the load over the feeder trough in this case. If the feeder is subcritically tuned, vibration swing/amplitude increases with increase of load as the natural frequency approches near to the applied frequency (natural frequency is inversely proportional to the square root of the mass). Therefore the increase of damping force due to increased feeder load is almost nullified in this case, because of the its tendency of increasing amplitude. The conveying capacity of the feeder is thus almost independent of the loading over the feeder trough. On the other hand, if the feeder is supercritically tuned, the vibratory feeder is certain to give trouble at site, although the same passes all inspection formalities at works, reason being the actual load condition at site, which may be quite different than the one tested at works. In this case, the natural frequency tends to move away from the applied frequency with the increase of load, which in effect tends to reduce the vibration amplitude. The conveying capacity of the feeder here is often dependent on the load over the feeder trough. All MCI feeders and vibrating equipments are pre-tuned to the subcritical level before despatch.
