Butterfly Valves

General Engineering Consortium offers two basic types of butterfly valves - replaceable sleeve design with size ranges from 40mm to 600mm and replaceable seal ring on disc design with size ranges from 80mm to 1600mm. These valves come from a family of quarter turn valves. Here the “Butterfly” is a metal disc mounted over a rod. The operations of a Butterfly Valve is very simple. If the valve is closed , the disc is turned which so that it completely blocks the passageway and flow is restricted. When the valve is fully open, the disc is rotated a quarter turn which offers an almost unrestricted flow of fluid through the passageway. These valves generally have a circular body structure and can appear in various styles. They have the advantage of being lower in costs compared to other valve designs.
