Wire-Wound Finned Tubes

Hindustan Radiators & Heat Exchangers Pvt Ltd designs and manufactures wire-wound finned tubes for air-cooled heat exchangers and water-cooled air coolers. Tle tube is of unique construction. The extended surface consisting of wire wound into elongated loops which are bonded to the basic tube in a helical formation. The heat transfer rate per unit length for wire-wound tubes is higher compared to crimped spirally wound tubes due to high surface ratio and turbulence. Tubes can be supplied in lengths up to 5 m with basic tube diameter from 9.5 mm to 25.4 mm, and over-wire diameter of 19 mm to 60 mm or more. The tube material may be copper, copper alloys, carbon steel and stainless steel, and wire material copper and tinned carbon steel. The wire geometry can be varied as per design requirement. For oil cooler application, a wire-wound internal turbulator is fitted inside the externally finned wire wound tube.
