Fire & Rodent Protective Cable Coating
RS9ODF is a state-of-the-art new concept coating compound. It is a specially formulated asbestos free, reinforced intumescent fire retardant coating, designed primarily for use on electrical, communication and data cables, and their supporting horizontal and vertical trays, where it is necessary to increase their fire endurance time. When exposed to fire or high heat, the coating puffs up (intumesces) and forms a protective thick, dense foam fire barrier, that shields the cables and trays, thereby retarding the penetration of heat and propagation of flames. It prevents the propagation of fire along the surface, thereby confining the fire and minimizing damages. It protects the substrate from heat penetration during a fire, retarding structural failure and short-circuiting of grouped cables. When applied on electrical, control and communication cables, the coating greatly reduces the deadly smoke generated during fire, minimizing smoke damage and possible loss of life. It is rodent, termite and vermin proof.
