Vertical Rotary Air Lock

Traxit Engineers Pvt Ltd offers Vertical Rotary Air Lock. In various process equipments handling powdery material, dusting is a common feature and it is necessary to avoid the dust from polluting the working atmosphere. For this application Traxit vertical rotary airlock has been developed. This equipment consists of a vertical cylindrical container with a conical bottom and a flat top cover. Inside the container and along its axis a finned star type rotor rotates. The fins are mounted radial to the central shaft of the rotor and can range from 4 to 6 numbers depending on the size of the equipment. The fin's edges towards the container are provided with flexible adjustable non metallic elements whereby the gap between the fins and the container body can be maintained to the minimum. On the cover of the equipment are provided two nozzles of adequate size placed diametrically opposite to each other. The conical bottom is provided with a butterfly valve. One of the nozzles on the cover is connected to the process equipment (from where the dust emanates) by a flexible hose. The dust laden air enters the rotary air lock through the inlet nozzle and travels downwards through one of the segments formed by consecutive fins and the air again travels upwards and out from the diametrically opposite segment but leaving the dust particles in the conical portion. The dust particles, which collect in the conical bottom, can be discharged from time to time through the butterfly valve. It is a simple economic device and does not require any external blower, etc., for operation.
