Anergy Instruments offers Cooling Tower Manager. This is a microprocessor-based device with solid state sensing. It is the only controller of its kind, to reduce cooling tower fan"s power consumption. Water cooling in cooling tower is dependent on ambient wet-bulb temperature, cooling of water to about 5°C above wet-bulb is energy efficient, trying to cool any further consumes more energy. This cooling tower manager calculates ambient wet-bulb temperature, compares it with sump-water temperature and decides the numbers of fans to be operated in multi-cell cooling tower or the speed of the fan in case of multi speed fan. It saves energy by operating the cooling tower fans in the zone of least power consumption.
