Belt Sway Switch, Series BS is used to stop the conveyor belt and to indicate the fault when the conveyor belt sways beyond limit. The switch allows smooth running of the conveyor and protects it from damages by over swaying. Over swaying can occur due to uneven loading of material, worn out idler roller bearings, etc.
The switch is housed in dust and weatherproof cast aluminium enclosure having IP 65 grade of protection. Special corrosion free DMC enclosure is also developed for use in seashore, saline atmosphere. The SS sleeved contact roller fitted with pre lubricated sealed ball bearings. This assures smooth operation of the roller over a long period of time. Switch mechanism is of self reset type. The enclosure is epoxy painted to withstand harsh climate.
Belt sway switches are to be mounted along the sides of the conveyor belt. Ideal gap between two switches is 30 metres. Small clearance is kept between roller and belt edge to allow belt for some sway. When the belt sways it touches the roller and switch is actuated. The contacts are wired in interlocking circuit to trip the conveyor. The switch is normal action spring return type.
