FCI OEN offers Insulation Piercing Connectors. It is insulated with simultaneous tightening for tapping on Aerial Insulated Bundled Conductors (ABC). The installation on live lines is secured with plastic nut. No apparent metallic part provided at line potential, during and after installation. The connector can be removed, but cannot be re-used after installation. The installation requires tightening of shear-off plastic nut with an insulated hexagonal head socked wrench (13 mm between flats). The installation temperature ranges between -15 degree C and +40 degree C. The main parts include insulated jackets (UV resistant) made of glass fibre reinforced thermoplastic; plastic shear-off nut for secured installation; end sealed tap conductor. Different types of substation, transmission and distribution connectors are also offered.
