Anchorseal is a water-based wax emulsion, like a wax paint. It seals the ends of freshly cut logs and lumber to prevent end checking. Depending on the species, the manufacturers claim that between 5 and 20 per cent of logs or lumber can be saved, the yield increased and natural resources conserved. Application is by brush or sprayer. The clean up can be carried out with hot, soapy water.
