Unique Systems & Control offers stepping motor controllers. Stepping motors require special drives to drive and control them properly. 'Uni-Step' controllers are designed specifically for this application only. These controllers receive digital signals from source and then move the motor accordingly, i.e., excite the required phases to cause motor movement in right direction with right speed. Uni-Step stepping motor controllers constitute of power supply, power translator, and pulse controller. Power supply provides various voltages required to the circuitry of the controller. Power translator converts weak input pulses first to proper logic sequences, depending upon full step/half step mode) required by the stepping motor and then amplifies these signals to provide the required power in proper sequence, resulting in completely controlled motor motion. The translator requires two TTL compatible signals – one for the direction of rotation, and a pulse on the second rotates the motor one step in the direction, hence controls the speed. A pulse controller provides pulses and direction signals for the power translator set with the help of a thumbwheel.
