Lanxess India Pvt Ltd offers Specialty Additives. Together, the Rhein Chemie and Additives business units form the new segment where we are pooling all units that manufacture additives. This covers parts of the additives business of the former Rhein Chemie Additives business unit and activities involving flame retardant and lubricant additives that were previously handled by Chemtura.
LANXESS develops, produces and commercializes additives and services for processors of polymers and specialty chemicals. The Rhein Chemie business unit offers more than 4,000 customized active ingredient compounds, specialty chemicals and service products for the rubber and colorants industries. Among the focal points for the Additives business unit are lubricant additives and synthetic lubricants for industrial applications such as in metal-working, power generation and aerospace. Another important area centers on business with flame retardant additives, plasticizers and various phosphorus and bromine derivatives. Thanks to their high-level effectiveness, brominated flame retardant additives in particular are primarily used in the building industry for insulation and in the electronics industry.
