K B Electronics has introduced a SMPS based Battery Charger. This system is suitable for VRLA, SMF and Ni Cd batteries capacity of 100 AH to 450 AH. It is portable, compact, light weight and low cost. True CV-CC characteristics quickly charge the battery. It is offered with rugged MS enclosure as table top or panel/wall mounting options. Battery life depends on a number of factors such as operating temperature of the battery and the method of charging used; for better life of battery it should be prevented from overcharge and undercharge. This feature is accomplished in this system by using float boost logic. It operates on PWM principle. Other features include MCB at input and output, digital voltmeter and ammeter provided at the output. This system provides short circuit, over load, over voltage and reverse polarity protection. It has LED indication for float and boost modes.
