Seals, Meset Series

Triumph Engineers & Associates Pvt Ltd (Fluid Sealing Business) offers MESET Series Seals. These are a spring-actuated, pressure-assisted element consisting of a PTFE (or other inert material) jacket partially encapsulating a corrosion-resistant metal spring energiser. These are an advanced seal design and perform in applications where standard rubber based energised PTFE seals, urethane seals or simple static seals fail. While seal failure can be attributed to numerous reasons, spring energised seals last longer compared to standard seals. The use of varying spring designs and spring materials provide for a varying degree of performance at varied loads – both mechanical and chemical. As seal designers and engineers, the company has proven its expertise in numerous high value, critical sealing applications. Today it can produce a seal using multiple custom configurations to design an optimised seal for each unique application – rotary, reciprocating or static. Typical applications: where traditional O-ring based seals, urethane U-cups or rubber compounds fail; incompatibility of chemical media with rubber/urethane formulations; high temperature applications with damaging pressure - temperature combinations for rubbers; high nature of pressure cycling where the elastomeric O-rings and urethanes fail; applications with minor eccentric shaft movement is possible; requirement of generic seal to handle different chemical media; applications where friction control is critical; redundant sealing in safety critical valves and control devices; and applications of complete dry running/lube free environment where in traditional sealing lips harden locally.
