Tuff Fab offers Nano Coating for Solar Panel Glass. A solar PV system must be operated at peak efficiency in order to justify the investment on it. Dirty panels block sunlight and therefore not produce the desired output of electricity. Thus it is very important to maintain the glass of the solar panels clean in order to ensure peak output. Nano Clear is a special nano technology based product created for PV module substrates with a long-term hydrophobic effect on glass surfaces. This is not a sealer that forms a film but rather is a modification of the surface on a molecular level to provide a virtually self-cleaning. The hydrophobic product works by repelling water – and prevents adhesion of foreign matter on the surface (creating the easy to clean/self-cleaning effect). Because of the hydrophobic treatment effect; dirt particles cannot penetrate the matrix of the surface. When rainwater runs off easily from the treated surface all dirt and grime particles are washed away with it. Alternatively, a hose can be used to clean the glass when there is little or no rainfall. Nano Clear makes the glass surface dust, water and oil repellent. The coating is also transparent, invisible and extremely thin. Nano Clear also improves smoothness, scratch resistance, UV stability and optical clarity. In addition to reducing the frequency of cleaning solar panels, Nano Clear also makes cleaning much easier whenever they need to be cleaned.
