Sri R V Machine Tools, a Coimbatore-based manufacturer of capstan lathes, multi drill heads and special purpose machines, has come out with a multi drill head with self clamping fixture in four models V.M 8-3, V.M 8-4, V.M 16-3, V.M 16-4. Salient features: -Variable pitch -Custom built drilling heads attached with self-clamping fixtures with guide bush to component convenience. -Drilling head housed in gearbox spindle made of aluminium alloy to reduce weight. -Hardened and grounded spindles -Bearings combined with needle roller and thrust -Speed of spindle approximates with mounting machine speed. The VM 8-3 has a maximum drilling capacity of 2 to 8mm while the number of spindles used is three. The minimum and maximum PCD are 44 and 136 respectively. The VM 8-4 has a maximum drilling capacity of 2 to 8mm while the number of spindles used is four. The minimum and maximum PCD are 60 and 152 respectively. The VM 16-3 has a maximum drilling capacity of 2 to 16mm in CI and 2 to 14mm in steel while the number of spindles used is three. The minimum and maximum PCD are 50 and 172 respectively. The VM 16-4 has a maximum drilling capacity of 2 to 16mm in CI and 2 to 14mm in steel while the number of spindles used is four. The minimum and maximum PCD are 80 and 202 respectively.
